rock Hill/Glen Wild, ny

MARKER LOCATION:

Intersection of Rock Hill Drive and Glen Wild Road (Pizza the Rock)

345 Rock Hill Drive

Rock Hill, NY 12775

MARKER DEDICATION:

SATURDAY, AUGUST 8
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Rock Hill Farmers Market, 61 Glen Wild Road

12:00 PM: Dedication outside Pizza the Rock, 345 Rock Hill Drive

We celebrate our 18th historic marker, located in Rock Hill, which tells the intertwined stories of Rock Hill and nearby Glen Wild. It highlights how early Jewish farmers in the area blended agriculture and hospitality, advancing a tourism industry that shaped Catskill resort culture.

Start the morning at the Rock Hill Farmers Market at (61 Glen Wild Road) featuring local vendors, farmers, and a special Marker Project merchandise table plus —a selection of Borscht Belt–inspired non-alcoholic specialty drinks.

At 12:00 PM, join us for the dedication ceremony outside Pizza the Rock and connect with the region’s rich history. Both events are free and open to the public, perfect for anyone curious about the area’s fascinating past.

*  This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.
