marker dedications and events

During the summer of 2024, the Borscht Belt Historical Marker Project dedicated five historic markers and hosted five cultural programs to coincide with our marker dedications. 

We now have nine historic markers scattered across the landscape that once comprised the Borscht Belt region, with another five dedications and curated cultural programs anticipated during summer 2025. Our estimated trail completion is fall 2026. 

Our lively dedication ceremonies include guest speakers who are hotel and bungalow colony descendants, town officials, local representatives and individuals who have a connection with the Borscht Belt. 

Each dedication ceremony is complimented by a curated public program which celebrates the famed era through film screenings, arts and literary expos, musical performances, DJ sets, cocktail hours, and more!
